How much do your translation services cost?

by | Aug 26, 2018 | News

This is, of course, one of the main questions that we get asked by prospective clients. There are a few factors that effect the pricing within the translation industry, some of which are:

  1. Language combination – less common languages will generally be more expensive, for example, as specific dialects of African languages are unique to some groups, any language to and from these dialects, are priced higher than more common languages like translation into European languages.
  2. If the cost of living is higher where our translators are based the price per word charged for this language will be higher, for example, although Germany is part of central Europe, the cost of English to German translation services is higher than to French, Spanish or Italian.
  3. Supply and demand; economic conditions in the country where are translators live can affect price.
  4. Translation complexity; if the translation is of a technical nature, the price per word, will be higher.
  5. Quality of translation; if the translation is important you may want to make sure that a linguist and proofreader is involved.

According to Pangeanic, the translation industry is fragmented and on a whole not too affected by overall global recessions as companies, even during recessions, still need translations, to help them to trade. The market is said to be valued at an estimated $37 billion this year and is continuing to grow.

Conversely, the people who can become affected by economic downturns and recessions can be freelance translators. Typically, individuals are more sensitive to these changes thus prices can vary dependent on how well the country’s economy is doing.

Our pricing model is charged on a per price-per-word basis and all of our quotes are valid for a month from issue date, helping us to provide you with a guaranteed price for this period. We specialise in providing our clients with technical translation services where a highly accurate and high-quality translation is required, and we charge more for this level of service in contrast with general translation service costs. You can view our price list for both general and technical translation services below:

Please note: all of our translation projects are completed by a team of our native human translators who are experienced and qualified in the subject matters that we translate for you.
